Handmade and raku fired shrine to Tibetan goddess Tara. Although it could also be Kwan Yin
This raku shrine is fired in purple crackle glaze with bright gold border. The design on this shrine is Tara, compassion Mother of all Buddhas.

The Tibetan Goddess, Tara is a Goddess of compassion and has the power to help others overcome the most difficult situations, giving protection against fear and danger. She embodies the activity of all Buddhas and assists by lifting us up to qualities of enlightened beings. She is known as the Swift One and Goddess of Compassion due to her speedy response to those who request her aid. She is the female embodiment of the Buddha and a bodhisattva which is an enlightened being who chooses to assist all sentient beings to their enlightenment forsaking her own Nirvana
She is the equivalent of the Virgin Mary, Qwan Yin in Chinese, the Cosmic Mother in Native American, and the Earth Mother in Shamanic and pagan traditions.
She is the embodiment of the Aum/Om, (the most sacred word, primordial, from which all other sounds come from. Tara means star

Tara is the Wisdom Mother of all Buddhas, and manifests in 21 forms and colors, each with a specific and miraculous energy and a special mantra. In the entire universe there is no other like Mother Tara. Tara is the Goddess of compassion and assistance, who vows to remove all suffering and lead all to Enlightenment. Tara , the Mother Goddess, is known to give the ultimate solace to those who seek, solutions and comfort for their problems. From the moment of. her cosmic birth she vowed to remove the suffering of all sentient beings and guide them to enlightenment

Tara represents the air-element and embodies the female wisdom activity of the mind. She has peaceful as well as wrathful manifestations.
Meditate on the Tara to develop quick thinking and wise reactions, to cultivate generosity, fearlessness and spontaneity, and a quick karmic completion.

A wonderful recording of the Tara mantra is TRANCE TARA by Jonathan Goldman. The entire CD consists of 2 versions of the mantra all natural and acoustically created.
Green and White Tara were evoked in the recording along with the intention to evokes Taras energies and manifestation in order to open and clear the chakras and open to higher consciousness.
